Surfers are competing every round to catch waves with their identical hands of numbered energy cards. Respect is the ultimate tiebreaker in the ocean, so surfers need to manage their respect while out-paddling and out-smarting everyone else, by playing the perfect energy card. If they paddle too fast – they risk wiping out, too slow – they might miss the wave or get stung by a bluebottle!
